Wine Quotation:

"Where there is wine, there is fun!"

All Wine Lovers say that!
(This saying is the the pun for the old saying, "where there is a will, there is a way".  If a host provides enough wine in his/her party, the chance of having fun would improve!)

This is a great example of our Deaf friends having fun with wine in last year's Deaf StompFest
(2012 in Riverside, California).

Editor Rusty's Rap:  Drink Red Wine for Better Hearing,

That is what the article says so in Readers Digest (Sept. 2013, "Your Amazing Body")!  We have learned that red wine is good for our hearts.  Now we are learning that red wine is also good for our hearing. believe it or not!  Dr. Michael Seidman, an expert in hearing science, discovered through many experiments with rats that red wine helps fight hearing loss from old age and other hearing damage from noise. He suggests drinking a glass of red wine daily in order to get the benefit for better hearing health.  Interesting, indeed!  Almost daily for decades I drink red wine but I am still stone deaf!  It is because I was born deaf to begin my Earth life.  This advice from Dr Seidman is for those who become deaf or hard of hearing later in their lives.

Enjoy the cartoon that depicts a lab feeding wine to rats!

Wine Choices of 2013:  See Sunset Magazine, October 2013

There are so many medalists, too long to list here.  However, I'd like to bring a few wineries to your attention and they always hit the mark (still great on a constant basis).  Two of them are Chateau Ste. Michelle ad Barnard Griffin, both from Washington State.  Worthy of your money when drinking at home and save other best, expensive wine for a party!

Wine Making:  Bottling Malbec (Imported Grape Juice from Mendoza, Argentina)

Setting up equipment, sanitizing everything before starting winemaking

Pouring unfermented Malbec wine juice that has been imported from Argentina

Checking the specific gravity to make sure there's enough Brix (natural sweetness)

Ensuring warm temperature in the juice (72-75 degrees F), then adding yeast to kick off fermentation

Discussing next four steps that would take 6-7 weeks...noting the airlock (top of the lid)
which starts bubbling, like a heartbeat!

At the end of 7 weeks, bottling time!
