Editor Rusty's Rap:  Support Your Alma Mater,

Make Your Own Label for Your School Bobby and Rusty made their own wine, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Franc Icewine, respectively.  We came up with the names for our wine from our high school colors, Scarlet and Gray (California School for the Deaf Riverside).  The picture on the label is the furry, lovable baby bear Cub, our adorable "bear" mascot.  The artwork was done by alumnus Mike Cardinale.  The wine was a big hit at the party where many alumni attended . . .

Wine Making:

Welch's Grape Juice was used in our experiment for demo at Deaf StompFest.  A package of yeast (used for making bread) was added to this Welch's 32-oz jar.  Fermentation began right there and you are making wine, cheap wine!  Warning:  if you don't have an air-lock, then don't do it at your home; it may explode if you put back the top cap to seal the jar too tightly!

Fun Fact:  Wine Pairing, Lamb dinner with What?

Our Deaf Irish Chef from Austin, Texas, Kurt Ramborger, at Deaf StompFest 2012 met with Rusty Wales, the Deaf Grapevine editor, Dick Ramborger, Kurt's father and Mark McCrory, the host at the Deaf StompFest 2012. They had a Marilyn Monroe wine chosen but they picked the wrong one to pair with a lamb dinner, but we liked the sexy Label, tho.  Enjoy this humorous video, along with other StompFest activities!
