Francis died of leukemia.
Marion was a native of Cookston, Minnesota and a graduate of Minnesota School for the Deaf. She moved to California in 1947 where she later met her future husband. She worked for over 20 years for the US Dept of Agriculture in Berkeley. She was also devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and His church. After Francis' death she still made the long drive from Antioch to Fremont. After about a year of declining health, she was in coma for a short time and died peacefully of hemorrhage at home. She was 89 years old and being cared for by his son Brett.

Arthur had more children but they are not recorded. His ASL was excellent.
