San Francisco Bay Trail
Redwood Point-Burlingame Section

Date:  Sunday June 22, 2014 at 10:00 am

Start Location:  Parking lot near 1406 Radio Road, Redwood City

Directions:  From 101, take the exit at Holly Street going east. Merge onto Redwood Shores Parkway. Turn right onto Radio Road. Turn left to stay on Radio Road. Free parking is at the end of the road.

Distance:  35 mile out and back

Type of Bike:  Any

Ride Classification:  Leisurely (up to 10 mph) to Touring (10 to 13 mph)

Climb Rate:  Approximately 250 feet total

About the Trail:  The Bay Trail is a bicycle and pedestrian trail that will eventually allow continuous travel around the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. As of 2014, approximately 335 miles of trail have been completed. When finished, the Bay Trail will extend over 500 miles to link the shoreline of nine counties, passing through 47 cities and crossing seven toll bridges. It is a project of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG).

Safety:  Wearing helmet is mandatory in all club group rides.

What to bring:  Spare tubes, patch kit, tire irons, pump/CO2 inflators, multi-tool, water bottle, identification/money/medical card and phone.

Before the Ride Maintenance:  Check the wheels (quick-release skewers are tightened correctly), inspect the tires for air pressure (with a floor pump's meter, not your thumb), test the brakes, lube the chain, and check the shifting.
